SIPSENSIN
Smart AI for Predictive Maintenance
The research project SIPSENSIN focuses on the deployment of an advanced measurement campaign that combines cutting-edge AI technology with practical industrial applications. The AI, developed by RPTU, will be tested at a dedicated facility provided by KSB.
At the core of the project lies an innovative AI model, implemented in real-time on a SoC FPGA, which is capable of predicting future failures of the Device Under Test (DUT). This approach marks a significant step forward in intelligent diagnostics and predictive maintenance.
Creonic is going to enable KSB to predict the failure of pumps with the help of the AI, which is developed by RPTU before it is going to fail. A low power device, which can be powered by a battery and transmit data over the air is going to be the target platform.
Although the focus is on pump systems, a generic Internet Protocol (IP) is being developed as part of the project. This IP is to be transferred to other areas in the future by Creonic, for example to other digitally networked production facilities in industry, thereby achieving a significant leverage effect.
